I love the first few weeks of school - meeting and getting to know the students, learning routines, and settling in to daily school life. This past week was filled with learning and practicing reading routines, and I think these brilliant kids have them down. I'm looking forward to next week, when we will hopefully be able to start some quick reading groups during our literacy time. Oh, and the big news this week is that we filled the Gem Jar! This means the kids earned a class party on Wednesday! Be on the lookout for an email with more details and a food permission slip (ice cream sundaes for all!) to come home on Monday.

Important Dates This Week:

  • Wednesday - Class Gem Jar Party! - More information to come home via email and in paper form on Monday
Curriculum Coming Up:

It should be a busy and interesting week, with one of my favorite science lessons of the year (building a thermometer) and our class party on Wednesday. Wishing you a wonderful weekend!
